FAQ

Here are the answers to some of your most frequently asked questions!

What can I expect during my first appointment?

Your initial psychiatric evaluation is a 60-minute session where we will discuss your mental health concerns, medical history, lifestyle, and treatment goals. This comprehensive assessment allows me to create a personalized treatment plan, which may include medication, therapy recommendations, and lifestyle modifications.

How long are follow-up appointments?

Follow-up appointments are 20–30 minutes long and focus on monitoring progress, adjusting treatment as needed, and providing ongoing support. Each session includes medication management and may also incorporate supportive therapy and lifestyle counseling.

Do you offer therapy in addition to medication management?

While my primary focus is medication management, I integrate elements of supportive therapy into each session. If additional therapy is needed, I can provide referrals to trusted therapists.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, I accept the following insurance plans:
✔ Aetna
✔ Anthem
✔ United Healthcare
✔ Cigna

Do you prescribe controlled substances?

I take a responsible and evidence-based approach to prescribing. If a controlled medication is appropriate for your treatment, we will discuss the risks, benefits, and monitoring requirements.

Can you refill my medications without an appointment?

To ensure safe and effective treatment, medication refills are typically provided during follow-up appointments unless we've discussed a plan otherwise. If you are running low on medication, please reach out as soon as possible to schedule a visit.

What is your cancellation policy?

I understand that life happens, and sometimes schedules need to change. I strive to be as flexible as possible with appointment adjustments. If you need to cancel or reschedule, there is no fee as long as you provide at least 24 hours' notice.

For cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment, a $100 fee will apply. This policy allows me to accommodate other patients who may be waiting for an appointment.

If an unexpected situation arises, please reach out—I always do my best to work with you.
